PRESS STATEMENT
Luos Abroad Condemn Wambui Otieno Adultery
Wambui Otieno should know that she has no right to be re-married because
she became the wife of the Umira Kager clan upon the unfortunate passing on
of the clan's son SM Otieno.
She should know that she is yet to be inherited according to the Luo customs.
This means the infant in her house is not a husband but just a boyfriend,
according to Luo inheritance customs which Wambui Otieno belongs to.
Because according to the customs, responsibility for the welfare of the
deceased family shifts upon the clan should the male of the house die. The
community also recognizes that a woman has certain physical needs and for
that reason, she can have as many different partners as she fancies also known
as "jater" (Inheritor).
The condition applies that the inheritor must be a married man and of the
woman's generation or age. His inheritance has to be consented to by his
wife. It is upon the widow to end the inheritor's role and chose another inheritor
so long as the condition apply. There are many widows known notorious for
"firing" inheritors rapidly. Now should the widow fall pregnant, all subsequent
children will be known as the children of the deceased because it is believed
it is his spirit that influenced the conception.
The inheritor cannot claim any right to property because all the property
belongs to the widow to distribute to all the children from her womb.
Wambui Otieno would have avoided soiling her already tainted image if she
had accepted to conform to these customs and culture. She should know that
she is widely perceived as the epitome of marital greed in many parts of
the country.
Wambui Otieno must bear in mind that she is neglecting an important duty
(being inherited) that she has to perform in Ugenya and this attitude is
having negative on the Otieno dynasty, which she seeks to destroy for whatever
vengeance. She needs to know that the Otieno dynasty is undestroyable, unbwoggable,
un-ndekkabble, un-yiengabble even if she ndekni or yiengni ewi yien ambewa!
