POWER
PROGRESSIONS IN NARC
The eroticism with which NARC found itself in power seems to be slowly
and efficiently converting itself into some form of feudal mode of
production. It was a
granted expectation of Wananchi that a form of managerial revolution
would spring from seasoned political players a good percentage of whom
are in the
cabinet. We have a president who was immediately described as an
economics professor and whose performance was thought to be above
political hecklers. Hence the modicum that political and economic
deliveries would un-protocol the rot that had eaten into the echelons.
But with the emerging para-political power points, it is not a surprise
that the case at the moment has led to de-skilled
parliamentarians dropping their faculties. How should we blame them for
their frustration-aggression tendencies ?
We thought that with all the political stress that the leaders had
overcome, a more vertical political space would prevail. Is it becoming
apparent that a regime
is being groomed to practice a functional theory of social
stratification in which purges and rewards are planarized on power
proximities and ethnic markers?
Moody Awori cosmeticises that this is not the case. Why should such a
stage be set on a donor scope if corruption is to be traced out ? Why
should Muite,
Murungi, Murangaru and even Khaminwa begin to construct a deviance
disavowal process to the chagrin of the original esprit de corps that
was NARC ? Can we assert that the Kibakian presidency is falling into a
dialectic of control with some cabinet members and previously
non-existent political busy bodies able to exert power over his
authority ? When is this period of status conflict within NARC and
cabinet going to be apprehended?
A lot of moral panic is now being generated by Koigi, Nyagah, Githae,
Kamanda, Mutangana and Karua and a host of other parliamentarians in
their pursuit of
status incongruence. Are the so called current leaders again pushing
Kenya into a spaceless horizontal socio-economic avalanche!! Who are
these Kenyans
investing into a social banditry outfit in the form of Mungiki ? If
this trend is not checked, Kenyans would not be surprised that a
polarized NARC is degenerating
into its own iron law of oligarchy. And why not ? There is all the
media evidence in the latent “technical functions” like Koigi, Nyagah,
Mutangana and Munyi being placed to ensure an effective fighting
machine against Ndolo, Ojaamong, Khaniri, Khamis, Owidi, Sunguh and
Marende. The Kenyan must be aware that the current political cleavage
is driven by the partial loss of an MOU and an immediate unbalanced
political mobilization. Is the Mwananchi once again being stressed to
display the psychological characteristic of the mass by being apathetic
and just willing to survive ?
What then would be our hope? That a worst case scenario would be to
give prolonged chance to ethnic orientations in all our public
performances. Do we
allow a few political players to be sacrificed for putting up on NARCs
promises or must we regress into cabal orders? I believe that we have
part of the
cabinet that still possess the transformational capacity required to
prevail upon Kenya beyond 2007. Or would it be natural to hike on
mortality to pursue
its own agenda as a reminder that we are going wrong? It is not
impossible to promote a pareto improvement in which real-location of
resources will up-load the economic status of the voting Wananchi.
