Focus on the
"Baseless Political Analysis" not on me.
=====================================================First, take a chill pill Brother Omamo Ogola! Calm down and focus on the issue. In your tirade, you failed to make any mention of the Central Kenya Initiative or even make an attempt of justifying it. For your information, that was the issue - not me. This is not a petty issue of making other people "feel bad like they did in the referendum" or competing on who has more tribal blood. Justify the Central Kenya Initiative and tell Kenyans whether or not it is tribal. You know it is as absurd as DP or Ford-Kenya starting a tribal outfit known as the "Luo Nyanza Initiative" or "Kalenjin-must-join-ODM Initiative". Do you support such tribal movements as "Luhya Unity" and GEMA? Isn't a tribal movement such as GEMA all about greater-Kikuyu Unity? What is the difference between GEMA, Central Kenya Initiative and Luhya unity? Tribalism will not disappear just because tell me "shame on you". You cannot seriously believe we should condone tribal outfits such as Central Province Development Support Group that had been crafted by KANU before the 2002 elections. And you call me a tribalist? Secondly, President Kibaki's development record is unchallenged even where he faulters politically. I prefer to quote an ODM-Kenya leader (former Finance Minister Hon. Chris Okemo) who recently said, "I must admit, though, that much as he (President Kibaki) has done poorly on the political front as characterised by his frequent changes in the Cabinet, he has done EXCEPTIONALL WELL to improve the economy and steer development". Frshen up on history and recall that Kibaki - the then Official Leader of the Opposition - was the best choice for a national CEO in 2002. That does not mean he is perfect or without some political failures. It simply means he was a far better choice than Uhuru, Raila and others and he has proved himself via results. Politics is a more complex issue and as you know, he was no President should be blackmailed to appoint people in exchange of support that can crumble anytime. I sympathise with whoever thinks Ruto, Mudavadi, Balala, Raila or Uhuru qualify to lead my country. Anyone who wants to compete with Kibaki should have proved by now that they can WORK. That is something ALL the six opposition Presidentail aspirants have failed to do in their past Ministerial roles in under KANU and NARC. By the way, if Mukhisa Kituyi vied for Presidency, I would vote for him instead of Kibaki because he is a younger leader who has proved to be a brilliant performer devoid of the petty obsessions of tribe. The issue of "mtoto wa nyoka ni nyoka" will become clearer when you honestly look at Raila's and Uhuru's records. For Uhuru, I would refer to the words of Raila and company as they told Kenyans why they should not vote for Uhuru in 2002. For Raila, I would tell a story after stating that no President of mine should have the record of a coup attempt in my democratic country. Hapo zamani za kale, just after the 1997 elections, President Kibaki, Raila and Wamalwa jointly signed a statement rejecting election rigging by Moi and pledged to work towards opposition unity. Our friend Raila Odinga decided that these men who had beaten him in the elections ni watu wakurega-rega tu. So he betrayed Kibaki and Wamalwa, broke off and went on to "cooperate" with their collective enemy KANU just so he can get what opposition rega-regas could not offer him. He sold his share of the "1997 MoU" in exchange for Cabinet appointments and the unprocedural upgrading of a sleepy town called Kisumu into a full "City". The man landed in Kisumu via a helicopter and uttered some prophetic words in Dholuo (remember?) and yet said nothing of the dodgy deal he had cut with Prof. Moi for the Molasses plant. Raila knew that his move undermined opposition unity. But that did not matter to him until 2002 when the man was given a taste of his own betrayal medicine by Professor Moi. To Raila, the undemocratic KANU-NDP merger election in March 2002 at Kasarani were well and good just because he gained from them. He even went on to brag that he will never vote for Kibaki (he! he!). But then Baba Moi gave him the October 2002 Kasarani elections, which were not as sweet sounding as the small Jaramogi had hoped. The brother had to painfully support Baba Jimmy - the then Official Leader of the Opposition; the same man he had betrayed in 1997 and vowed never to vote for (he! he!). He even declared "Kibaki tosha". By the way, I remain very proudly Kenyan and you may visit KMC, KCC, Kitale maize farmers, Kisumu airport, KICC, squatters at the Coast, sugar farmers, NSE investors, HIV/AIDS victims, CDF beneficiaries, primary school pupils, KNH or refer to any recent "Economic Survey" if you need a reason to feel proud of your own nation. While Kibaki was working, his opponents were holding demonstrations and making cheap propaganda allegations to the effect that the NSE is financed by drug money or that the government has threatened their lives.
