Ndugu Nyangweso, I disagree, to some extent with your assesment regarding the ongoing skirmishes in the country terming it an 'ethnic' cleansing. What Kibaki's goons are doing here is more political than it is ethnic. The moment you convince Kenyans that this is a movement targeting Luos rather than overal irresponsibilty of the Kibaki administration, you will have helped Kibaki alot! How many times have ODM been branded a Luo party? How much money has used to somewhow paint ODM as Rift Valey/Nyanza party to no avail?

From January to August of this year, some 200 members of the pastoral community have been killed in all manner of ways, some blamed on the goverment while a majority blamed on cattle rustling. I am still to hear 'ethnic cleasning' used regarding these killings. The goverment for years took sides in the Gucha killings that saw hundreds of Kissii and Masai slaughetered, still, no ethnic cleansing branding on these conflicts.

The hired killings of the "upcountry" people at the coast by Moi and his men in
the 90s and 2000 still does not amount to ethnic cleansing. Dont make this a Luo persecution; cause if you succeed, you will have done the Luo a huge diservice! I think Kenyans are very capable of looking the other way if just one of its 40 something tribes is miserable!
