They argued that the decision was arrived at without their involvement and threatens to move to court to obtain a court order to contest the council's decision. The bone of contention for the thousands of cyclists was that the council was deconjesting the town's Central Business District(CBD) and as a result, the council designated major pick and drop off points. The crest fallen cyclists,said that they will not be able to access the designated points and it will not be possible for them to operate without getting into the CBD. Cyclists said that the recent passing of a resolution by the council,of their eviction from the CBD, was just but a tip of the ice bag.The District Security Committee(DSC),further unleashed a shot in their feet that they should not operate after nine oclock at night. DSC said that the move is to curb insecurity as some cyclists are being used at night by criminals as transport.But, they strongly defended this ,saying, only a handful of them they think are involved in criminality which they dont tolerate too.
