Of Tribal Politics, Electability and Moral Untouchables Dear contibutor, The issues you have raised are the perils of political cohabitation (even in the blessed marriage); and those are issues I continue to struggle with: The HOUSE of Ramogi and Aloo Nyar Nam may not have the numbers to elect its own to the presidency. And that is true for every other House in the country. On the other hand, we do not want to play the game of mere spoilers. We want a voice at the table; and we know that in a union with like-minded Kenyans, collectively we can elect a winner. The Question then is, "Do we have a choice as to the people we want to associate with?" This is a tough question in politics in general, and more so in tribal politics. So when our Warriors appear to be dancing with what you may consider "moral untouchables," political number-crunchers will tell you to go easy. "Moral electability" is not the same as "Political electability:" the former belongs to the world of the spirits; the latter eats Ugali like you and I. I believe that our capable Warriors, and their very capable Council of Elders and Wisemen, do understant this perilous dynamic. My brother, I do empathize with you; and surely mourn over these matters the way you do. Continue with your good work.
