Subject: MACHINATIONS AGAINST ODM-K USA
For some time now ODM-K USA has been on the receiving end of a great deal of undue aspersion cast by individuals aligned with a particular New Jersey grouping and that echo chamber of theirs', distinguished only by its predilection for one-sided analysis. It has often been very tempting to respond in kind to the insults and other utter nonsense directed at us, but we have felt restrained by our responsibility to ODM-K and the Kenyan community at large.
It has recently come to light that this well-orchestrated campaign is the product of the work being carried out by negative forces within that New Jersey group who may very well be finger puppets of the Kibaki administration, planted in the midst of well-meaning Kenyans in the diaspora to wreak utmost havoc and confusion. That these individuals have worked tirelessly (though unsuccessfully) to sabotage our activities must now be seen in the light of the serious allegations that have recently surfaced, linking that group's "point man" to a Nyanza politician who is a cabinet member in the Kibaki government, a self-declared critic of ODM-K and avowed adversary of Raila Odinga.
We have evidence linking this alleged traitor to the efforts to sabotage the establishment of regional ODM-K USA chapters nationwide, and in the Dallas region in particular. Further we are aware that there may very well be several coordinated efforts that have on occasion taken the form of conference calls with various individuals and entities all across the US and Canada with the sole purpose of monitoring and sabotaging our regional activities.
We respect the right to decide for oneself whom to deal with. However we would like to forewarn all ODM-K supporters in the US and Canada to be vigilant - anyone who deals with or agrees to be led by these people does so at their own peril. Moreover, caution and diligence should be foremost in interactions with all the so-called "officials" of this New Jersey grouping until it is established who among them attended that meeting that their "point man" has admitted took place and what was discussed. The closest thing to a defense of the allegations made against this "point man" and the complot so far is the rather audacious statement of one of the "officials" that "Raila himself would laugh that notion off (read alleged betrayal), because he knows who [name withheld] is and what he is doing for him".
We doubt that any of the other officials will be rushing to the defense of this "point man" any time soon given what has transpired since the making of that audacious statement - the defense was clearly a non-starter as it only elicited the further elaboration of details of the alleged complot by their accusers.
Our position remains that that the "official" quoted above has neither the capacity nor the authority to make such a statement on behalf of Raila Odinga. That he would be so presumptuous to arrogate to himself the power to make such a statement underscores that there is no distance that this New Jersey group would not be willing to travel if only to confuse all who may be willing to give them an opportunity to be deceived.
We are yet to narrate the story of the very Rev. Okoth Otura, an outspoken tribalist and extramural member of this New Jersey group whose idea of second liberation is to decimate Kikuyus out of the political map; who we understand has stated in private that his migration to Canada was supposedly to escape the wrath of Raila supporters, and whose mission is to attack and undermine the efforts of Raila's campaign team in Kenya.
ODM-K USA does not wish to be embroiled in endless squabbles, nor is it our desire to kick the man (alleged traitor) when he is lying down, albeit having perhaps fallen down under the weight of his own wickedness! However given our experience with these people we must act astutely enough by cautioning our members and the supporters of any of the ODM-K presidential candidates that there is simply no way to know who among this New Jersey group is in bed with the aforementioned cabinet minister, and by extension the Kibaki government.
We expect their usual barrage of vitriol, abuse and name-calling to ensue, but we promise you that we will equal and better every challenge - "If you live by the sword you shall probably be the victim of the sword". Given recent events we can only urge the rest of this New Jersey group to reform their ways and to take the lesson that each action may well portend unintended or calamitous consequences.
If and when we consider it necessary we shall release evidence backing our claims and any rebuttals in this webpage. Henceforth we will consider any further provocation by any "official" of this group as an invitation for us to release any mitigating evidence that we may have in possession from time-to-time, whatever its impact on this New Jersey organization, its extramural members, and any or all of its so-called "officials".
