I have many Kikuyu friends, and I point this loudly and clearly to them all. We are still friends, and I want to believe that this time around, the Kikuyu will vote for non Kikuyus like me. My campaign and strategy managers are Kikuyus. And they have no problem with what I say and right. because they know Kibaki is leading the entire tribe into Golgotha. A person who tells you that you are naked, is better than a person who admires your nudity. Rodgers, does that make any sense to you? Oketch has now come up with a tribal-political twist to crime. Oketch is an aspiring councilor fighting for a chance to represent a cosmopolitan constituency. He sounds an infomed man but politics does thing to brilliant people. Oketch comes out as a tribalist filled with prejudice. How can Oketch expect to get votes from Kikuyus when he presents them as robbers and cold killers? Will we heal the wounds of tribalism by electing bigots like Oketch? We have seen political violence in Nairobi. The violence involves politicians of different ethnic groups and not only the Kikuyu. We have thugs like Gumo, Mwenje, Raila, Ndolo etc unleash terror on their opponents. People have been killed by goons hired by these politicians. We have elephant memories so we know what happened in the past. Please cut were tribal chauvinism address the issue of political violence without bias.
