Otieno was last week sent packing by Agriculture Permanent Secretary (PS) Dr. Rumanus Koome and was replaced by Kenneth Ayuku, who until his appointment was a director in the Ministry of Agriculture. Otieno's suspension came hot on the heels of lodging the luo political kingpin, Raila Amollo Odinga, at the company's guest house. Odinga is largely seen by the incumbent and his clique as the chief architect towards unseating the current regime. Panic heightened in SONY sugar company following claims that some key managers had also been purged a day after the acting chief executive officer Bernard Otieno was suspended.

Otieno was last week sent packing by Agriculture Permanent Secretary (PS) Dr. Rumanus Koome and was replaced by Kenneth Ayuku, who until his appointment was a director in the Ministry of Agriculture.
