Your reports do fill a void. If I may, however, I do quibble with some of the ethnic characterizations especially in your last report on Mbita. Ethnicity is not a a trait set in stone, and referring to the "Luos and their neighbors the Suba" revises the history of assimilation of the Suba and their evolution into Luos. It would the same as referring to Sidho ma Kano as Kisii , or Samia - Luhyas as Luos. I would refer anyone to "A history of the Luo-Abasuba of western Kenya, from A.D. 1760-1940 / Okello Ayot. Especially the chapter on how the Suba became Luos.
