RE: JOINT STATEMENT BY ODM-USA AND RAILA007

Following the Joint statement by ODM-USA and RAILA007 only yesterday, it appears that this truce may be over before it started. Disagreements have already emerged, mostly amongst Raila007 members in the Diaspora.

The bone of contention is that inside members of RAILA007 have been slighted by the decision by their leadership to cooperate with their former antagonists without consulting them. They were shocked to read the statement regarding the truce on the internet.

Neither Dr. Komburo nor Dr. Ayaga consulted their membership before signing the MOU. Raila007 members have disowned the statement and are planning a meeting to discuss their leader, and take appropriate disciplinary action against him. They say as an organization, anything done on their behalf has to be above board. They are very bitter with Omburo and Ayaga for taking them for a ride.

Amongst the issues they have is that the ODM-USA group are tainted and any mixing with them would therefore taint their reputation also. "There is no way we are going to attend their meetings and fund raisings because we have different mandates. Raila007 is supporting Raila for President, while ODM-USA are supporting ODM-K. This is a public relations disaster for Raila!", said a Raila007 member.

Raila himself has been accused of behaving as if he owns ODM-K. This cooperation will be a vindication to those making these rumours. How would a group claiming to support the whole ODM-K party turn around to be supporting Raila in collaboration with Raila007, yet ODM-K has not done their nomination? If they are Raila supporters then they should drop the ODM name first before the joining Raila007. They cannot camouflage their support for Raila under ODM-K name.

“If these people really wanted to work with us, they should not have left in the first place", a Raila007 member added. “They are making this move because they have failed due to public distrust. They have such a bad record that no one wants to associate with them”.

People boycotted the DC function only after rumors went round that ODM-USA was to host it. It seems they now want to cash in on Raila007 successes and goodwill.

They have unresolved cases with the public and they need to resolve them first. They need to explain to the public what became of the money that was not given to Magara. They also have to announce to the public that they are no longer working for the party but have resolved to support Raila only for the nomination in ODM-K and for president, if nominated.

ODM-USA have hurt Raila's cause in every way so far and if Raila fails to get ODM-K nomination, they will be directly responsible!
