re: Ndung'u new Central Bank boss Bob-A, I must be missing something here! Where does ethnicity come in? The mere fact that he is a Kikuyu should not detract from the fact that he has the qualifications to do the job. Pray, tell us who were the other candidates with better qualifications who applied for the job and were rigged out? Should the appointing of any individual on merit by someone of his ethnic group be construed as tribalism (notwithstanding his abilities and qualifications)? And, by extension, should each and every appointment that Kibaki makes where the individual happens to be a Kikuyu be seen to be of a tribalist nature? What you are saying is, in essence, that no one from Central Region should be appointed to a high office by the President! I have no problem with appointees in so long as they have what it takes to occupy that office irrespective of their origins. One does not choose to be born to a particular ethnic group.
