Mining in Kenya Odhiambo T Oketch wrote: Tegi Obanda, It is not about education. It is not about degrees. And it is not about exploitation. You know some of this things, but you choose to pretend that you are more concerned than some of us. I would like you to get the jist of this argument, because, as usual, you choose to run off the pitch. You cannot win however fast you run; you are off pitch. Our problem was simple. Similar projects are on going across Kenya, and those in those neighbourhood are not making any noise. Now, why should our own people be used to make noise about a project whose ramifications, taken from all angles, is similar to what is obtaining in those other similar places? If something is good for the Kikuyu, it can also be good for the Kamba, Luhya, Kissi, Marakwet etal. That is the issue, and it is very simple Tegi. SIMPLY COME DOWN from the ivory tower, for that seems to me like that famous tower of Babel. Odhiambo T Oketch - Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
