Re: [Jambo] Dominion Group Issue: Fail to Plan, Plan to fail- My last word from: joabo Mr. Okumu, Thank you very much for pointing out the obvious about these activists. These activists have nothing to offer our people or our future. There is no way we are going to feed our ever growing population and improve our lifestyles without changing our environment, some of our culture and even our customs. For the last 40 years urbanization has had a significant change in our lifestyles as we move from the villages to the cities. It is obvious that the traditional methods of farming is not feeding our population nor is it generating income to our folks in the village and therefore creating more poverty and congestion of the cities as everybody moves to the city to look for a job and end up in the slams of Kibera and Korokocho. Modern agricultural methods will definitely change our environment and lifestyles at the village but the benefits far outweigh the benefits of status quo. Change is inevitable and we have to be honest with our people that in this world you either change or perish. Our lifestyles will have to change for our people to survive or we will be extinct like most animals who could not change with circumstances. The only way human beings have survived extinction better than most animals is our ability to change. The west went through all these changes and activists then predicted dire consequences but look at a country like the US now able to feed all its population and export tons of food. As you correctly pointed out, the activists have no alternative on how we will feed the people in the rural areas or how we can create jobs in the rural areas so that people do not have to move into the urban slums.
