Re:What about the way-ward children!!!!

There is some kind of pride, great feeling and satisfaction that comes to parents when their children happen to be doing fine. This is true when a child comes out on top of a national exam, graduates with honors, sings very well, is very active at church, does a simple but colorful wedding, or occupies a prestigious position. In such cases, you want the whole world to know that that is your baby. When you are with him/her, you walk with the chest forward and want everyone to know who she/he is.

But the opposite may be true with the way-ward children. Those who through the temptations of the evil one quit school due to a pregnancy, have a bad name in the community as a thief, are always send away from school due to bad behaviour, or use drugs and smoke heavily. You have spend many years praying for them but the more you pray the more damage they cause. Due to this bad image, you don't want to be seen with them. Have you heard of such cases? What's the solution?

I read a story some time back of a way-ward child turned a christian and I thought I should share with you. A certain christian family had three children. Their third born son gave the family very hard time. He suddenly became mean, rude, very disobedient and hard to live with. He was kicked out of school due to his sick behavior. He became a real pain to the family. After trying different methods of helping him to no success, they decided to get rid of him by sending him to a military camp to become a soldier.

At the camp, he maintained the status quo. Although his family and friends gave up on him, the good Lord did not. Praise be unto Him. At the camp, he was assigned to share a room with another boy who, thank God lived and practiced that which he had been taught. He gave him real hard time but nothing seemed to bother him. One day he came to the dorm socked wet after it had rained cats and dogs. He left his shoes by the door and demanded that the other guy take care of it. To his surprise, his friend took, cleaned, and put them where they were supposed to be.

Something happened one day that changed the equation and proved that God is still in the business of performing miracles and that he never gives up on anyone until he/she commits unpardonable sin (totally refuses to hear the small voice saying,"this is the way, follow yee it"). He one day came to the camp drank, and found his friend on his knees praying. It's possible that he might have been praying for among other things the conversion of the headache boy. As it was his behavior, he knocked his head so hard that except for the fact that this boy was a christian, hell would have loosened. But the other boy was un-disturbed and as usual continued to pray. That was it. That act in itself became the turning point.

The next day,the mean boy wanted to know why this other guy was so different. "Because I am a seventh-day Adventist believer" answered the christian boy. Right there, he made a decision of a life time-he decided to have the God of the christian boy.
Hallelujah!!!

Then came time to go home for the break. Back home, the last thing the family wanted was to see him again. His being away had brought a false sense of peace; false because deep in their hearts they were hurting and at a loss as to what to do next. One thing however that they did not know, was that the good Lord had answered their prayer by helping the boy turn around.

Everything about him had changed-His way of dress, talk, walk, attitude and name it. For a while, they thought that they were dealing not with their real way-ward child but may be with his ghost. To tell you that the family was astonished will be an understatement for they were in great shock until their son shared with them the story of his life. Yes, that which they had failed to do, God did it by using his faithful servant at a military camp.

Do you happen to have a way-ward son, daughter, brother, sister or do you know any one who does? Are you out of options on what to do, then I have good news to you. I have a dear friend. His name is Jesus of Nazareth. He is an expert in issues dealing with humanity. No case has ever been taken to Him that He was unable to solve. If you want,I can forward your case to Him. But the question is, will you let me?

Just a thought.
