Why are kenyans quiete about ARTUR BROTHERS? Immediately after voting Kanu out of power, Wanainchi became very vigilant in not only reporting crime but at times providing justice where those who are supposed to gurad the law looked the other way. At one point a police officer who received a bribe from a driver was frog martched and handed over to the other police officer, who though were as corrupt as the one arrested took him to jail in the process learning their lesson. If the world has taught us anything, it is that in unity we have power. We have power to thwart injustice. The masses can only be unfairly ruled by one big fat cat at the top if the masses fail to excercise their power. This is typically true in Kenya. I am particularly tired of kenyans crying about crime and yet they have the power to stump it down. How? Start from the top. Start by who is in charge of the Arturs. Arturs are criminals. They are not only petty criminals, they are car thieves, burglers and cold blood killers. They are no different from bank robbers who had recently been tracked down by the police and shot on sight. They are no different from the burglers who come and break into our houses every day. The only difference here is that the Arturs are criminals protected by criminals that purport to be the protectors of our laws. Now what do we normally do when we catch a criminal on the act. Mostly we burn them, stone them or simply beat them up untill the police come to help them. I remember when I was at the University we even attempted to burn classmates caught stealing petty things like sneakers. I am not advocating for lawlessness but my stand is that if the police cannot do anything to an outright crime then we have to act and act hard like we always do. In certain cases we have even stoned the police who fail to act. If we can do this to our brothers, sisters and friends who are the artur's? The Artur's have already been let off the hook. They are not in Kenya and so there is nothing much we can do. But we have to do something about the Arturlets. The Arturlets are all the government ministers and the government itself that is bent on concealing an outright crime and criminals. Yes I am talking about Kibaki and Michuki, the most powerfull men in Kenya. Yes they are powerfull but not as powerful as the wanainchi watukufu. If this cannot bring them down I do not know what will. How come Kenyans are all chilling and relaxed while standard board members have been arrested while exposing a crime? Why are kenyans watching on the road side while the law is being prostituted by a handfull of people? Why are kenyans loughing in bars and markets while the government is protecting a person who has stollen their car. why are Kenyans not even worried that an outright criminal whose passport has been revoked everywhere is about to marry the president's daughter? Why have kenyans stooped too low? This is not politics. This is total failure or disregard of the law and the people we have entrusted with our protection have turned to be thieves and robbers. By protecting Arturs to an extent of taking the standard officials to jail, the government have proven that it is constituted of car robbers and burglers. We have indeed caught Mr. Michuki and Kibaki in the act of robbing our cars and our houses. Remember one of the cars at Arturs was identified by the owner as stolen at gun point. Do you know the pain this guy went through to purchase this car? How about if this car was his only livelihood. What happened to his kids's school fees when he lost his car? While Kibaki and Michuki was busy protecting Arturs, this kenyan was wondering how he was going to put a meal on the table now that the Arturs forcibly owned his car. The qusetion is are Kenyans going to stand up and defend a fellow Kenyan or are they going to simply watch. Are Kenyans going to stone, burn or conduct citizen arrest on Kibaki and Michuki or are they going to let ourselves be robbed and killed by these criminals. God I wish the Arturs had done this in the united states. I could have made a great comparisson. Dr. Barack Abonyo USA Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
