it is time for women in nyanza politics The declaration by women professionals from Luo Nyanza to fight it tooth and nail alongside men in this years general election is timely and hailable, for it will not only offer new leadership but also fill the void that was left by Phoebe Asiyo(nyar agoro) and Grace Ogot(nyar gem). Women can spur development in Nyanza to greater heights if what Phoebe and Grace did is anything to go by. A number of them have shied away from politics in the past only for the people to elect dismally performing men. They should strategize and include both men and young people in their campaign team so as not appear as a women affair. They are the cream of the society and should not allow everything to men in this era where issues matter more than traditional beliefs and political allegiance. They can restore hope and certainty in the people if they let no stone unturned in their quest. I urge Professor Jackie Oduol and her colleagues to go for it and not give up for we are solidly behind them. GO WOMEN GO. Joab Apollo university of eastern africa,Baraton.
