Luo Language should be our pride.

It is very sad indeed for people to see the importance of this important debate.

How can one call one's language as primitive? Language is part and parcel of all the Luos or any other ethnic group.

I have been fighting all along that we need not down play our nice and very sweet language. I have written various articles regarding this. There are those Luos who dont even want to be identified as Luos. This is very common in urban places and more so in higher learning institutions like Universities, Colleges etc. It is ones' like to either talk or use dholuo but it is sad that in one way or the other it will catch up with you in the long run. Writing or speaking ones Language is not primitivity, but avoiding or abandoning it is primitivity.

Luo Language is dying a very fast death and those who are very busy killing it are the so called Educated Luos. It is our Language and it is part and parcel of our rich culture. Let us promote it by speaking it and writing it. Parents should encourage their children to speak it. It is not primitivity but our pride.
