Re: [Mwananchi] War in Somalia | Somali needs a decade of strong military and social occupation Africa Union watched for long, as Somali was being invaded by that Fundamentalist group. Instead of acting, AU was busy calling for summits in foreign lands, until Menes Zenawi decided that summits would not solve the Somali problem. He moved in and his forces saved the current President. They overran Somali and the Fundamentalist escaped. Some came to Kenya, and as usual, were given safe passage to destinations of their choice, to continue plotting against Somali. To solve the Somali impasse, all the neighbours ought to play some significant role aimed at bringing an everlasting peace. For now, it seems the only African country that desires peace in Somali is Ethiopia. They have proved in word and deed that they want peace in that country. But as we stand, it is the double standards by the Kenyan regime that strokes the embers of conflict in Somali. If Kenya decides to help make Somali stable, that will be a done deal, and Somali w! ill join the Family of African Nations again. But by collaborating with the Fundamentalists, we are the problem in Somali. Odhiambo T Oketch Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
