We need to support Hon Raila The journey to State House started in style yesterday in Nairobi for Hon Raila Odinga. His road show which began in Langata, went through Makadara, Westlands and finally culminated in a rally at Dagoreti, was a clear indicator that Kenyans have accepted the candidature of Hon Raila. His call to Kenyans was clear; there is work to be done, and together we can do it. This is what Kenyans need, because we aborted the struggle, when we gave the presidency to one who did not believe that together we can do it. Hon Raila hit the right cord for me and most Kenyans when he called on Kenyans to rally together and save Kenya. Here is one candidate who believes in all Kenyans and believes that as Kenyans, we can do it. He sees his presidency as that that will serve the interest of all Kenyans, not a section of Kenyans as is currently obtaining. We need to kill tribalism, and I believe Hon Raila will kill tribalism immediately he is sworn the fourth president of this country. I believed his message, we all belong together as Kenyans and talent abounds across the country. Talent is not only limited in scope. Secondly, Kenya has to face corruption, a thing that has become a crisis in this country. We do not need commissions to fight corruption. We do not need agencies to advice on corruption in this country. What we need is someone who is not corrupt to stop corruption. And Raila can stop corruption and move Kenya alot more forward. With Hon Raila in the saddle, corruption will cease to be a way of life in Kenya. Justice Ringera has been earning 4m per month to fight corruption. The salary which the state pays Ringera's cook is way above what our lecturers are been paid at our state universities, and I doubt if this is normal. But because he is being pampered to fight corruption, he must himself be corrupted. With Hon Raila at the Presidency, this thing called corruption will be a thing of the past. We only need the president to apply the force of the law, and with the Kenya Police doing its work, and the courts being independent, there will be no corruption. We do not need commissions and all these other bodies that Kibaki has created to fight corruption. We only need Raila to be faithful to the law, and all will fall in place. Our roads are in a shamble, and the first man to ever come up with a marshal plan for our roads was Hon Raila when he was the minister for roads. If he could do that then, what do you think he can do as our Chief Executive? Roads will be built, and the issue of cowboy contractors will never be heard of again in Kenya. The only minister to ever have come with a clear housing policy was Hon Raila when his docket included housing. Again because the powers that be feared his approach, that docket was swiftly taken away from him and given to some Kimunya, who never knew what to do with it. This shows that the man Raila can deliver. Kenya is a great country, which is just saddled by poor leadership. We now have a president who dreams that the economy is doing well, yet, if it was doing well, the people would feel the benefits of an improved economy. Even if you pretend that things are fine, the prices of essential commodities betray that feel good attitude. The common man will only sing of an improved economy when the price of sugar, maize, milk, unga, fuel etc are affordable. But when they remain high as they are, those improved economy songs are just that, songs. Kenyans must not abort the fight for good governance again. Time has come when we must stop experimenting with leadership. Time has come when we must all rally behind Hon Raila Amolo Odinga, so that we can save our country from the grip of this corruption riddled administration. We welcome all Kenyans to the second round of the road show which will see Hon Raila traverse Starehe, Kamukunji, Kasarani and finally be received at Embakasi on 5th May 2007.
