DOMINION FARMS SUPPORTERS DEVOID OF HUMANITY

Friends and colleagues,

This is the week when NCA-NCEC marks its 10th Anniversary. It is also the Week when Christians remember the triumphant entry and the brutal crucifixion of Jesus Christ - all in a short one week- a man who wanted to establish a world where Principles and Principalities governs the society and community.

I am therefore happy to note that Tobby knows that cracks are too obvious in their well packaged story about Dominion in Yala swamp. For me, I last wrote about Dominion two weeks ago and I only am using Dominion to address a bigger Kenyan agenda. I do not fit in those little Luo and Kisii debates and fixations that Tobby is unashamed to roll out on a national, nay, international forum like this without care of the blushes we suffer as a country. NCEC has withstood many challenges because of the C words- Consistency, clarity, conviction, commitment, compassion for community and courage to cause to Change.

The reasons why Tobby does not make sense to me lately are because he is unnecessarily arrogant and unreasonable and Secondly Tobby has imbibed so many false theories until he has become a poor man in thought. When he says that “Dominion is the best that ever happened to us since manna fell from heaven” two questions arise

Who does he mean by ‘we’? I guess he means Luos.

Why is Dominion the best thing that has ever happened to Luos?

When you come to a national forum and start to discuss companies like Kenya Breweries and other entities like Kano rice; Then those of us who have lived and worked with all Kenyan communities who make the Kenyan family are compelled to ask you;

What about Ramisi sugar?

What about Coast Development Authority [CDA] and the collapsed nut factories?

What about the greatest loss these countries has ever suffered after Moi’s Nyayo house torture chambers where hundreds were murdered, hundreds maimed and broken and that led to all brains to flee abroad leaving our universities bankrupt of serious academic minds and faculties depleted?

What about Mwea rice irrigation scheme?

What about Pekera Irrigation scheme?

What about Pyrethrum Board of Kenya that milked rift valley and Nyanza farmers dry??

What about KCC? Where I am told in one instance Moi’s son pulled out Kshs.

800 million and floored the corporation?

What about coffee in Gusii which is totally uprooted?

What about TARDA that totally collapsed?

What about Garbatulla high school my friend which is totally grounded and nothing seems to in the pipe to redeem the only serious school north of Nanyuki?

And Tobby do you Ewaso Ng’iro?

What about the Samburu tragedies?

And what about the Pokot- Turkana- Marakwet- Turgen internecine carnage and massacres that have been happening under the supervision of your governments since independence?

What about Turkwell Gorge white elephant project where Kshs. 8 billion was sunk in the 80s? And you know what Kshs. 8 Billion was in the 80s!

What about the Nyayo Housing project that was blown up in by the Mungiki and Thugs in suits?

What about Posts and Telecommunications where nearly Kshs. 6 billion was looted by people you know and are walking undeterred on Kenyan roads and streets?

Why are you so narrow in your perspective of the Kenyan CRISES of governance, Corruption, elite banditry and down right incompetent leadership that we are all trying to deal with through our INDIVIDUAL AND COMMON struggles?

Tobby I want to lead the team that shall demand that you stop localizing Kenyan problems to Luo Nyanza. I want to assure you that we shall not stop demanding for justice even in Yala and Siaya and Busia with or without your affection and uncritical view of Dominion. Let me remind you that there is nothing like Luo investment. Kenyans including Kikuyus who you have little regard for have a right to live and work every where including in Siaya and at Yala. We can not be intimidated to fit into the small polythene bags that you have demanded that we fit our conscience simply because you think that it is Luos who have suffered most under the post independence Kenya.

I actually do not agree that the Luo community is the only one that has community grievances that are stronger than say for example the Kenyans of Somalia origin. I have been to Wajir many times to try and document how Moi’s government (not a Kikuyu) massacred nearly 2000 men of Somalia community in 1984 at the Wajir airstrip. Interestingly, the carnage was actually stopped when a Catholic nun of Italian origin sent the message of distress the world over!

A foreign company that has clearly drawn controversies like Dominion can not attract our unfettered support just because many brilliant Kenyans including Tobby have chosen to insult and demean and intimidate every one who has raised fundamental questions about it! Tobby, I assure you of my faithfulness to principle, not principalities.

Orina
