Tho dawa. Tribute to ma grandy

Memories are still fresh in my mind. My grandmother was wishing me goodbye when I was leaving home on January to Nairobi for my third semester at Strathmore University. I can even quote what she told me as she was lying in her bed.
As usual she always called me "Jaoda" being named after her husband who passed away in 1988.
"Jaoda, dhi isom matek chieng' iyudgo tich iritgo mamau, an ka Nyasaye oyie to wananere ki iduogo to ka ok oyie to bende wanarom e paradiso".

I was shocked and I told her that God has already agreed that we will meet and she replied "ooh dhi gi Nyasachi an bende adong kode"

I left my grandmother's house with tears rolling down my eyes. I was really sorry for her and what really made me wipe more tears is that I wouldn't see her again alive. As days turns into weeks and weeks turning into months,I kept on calling my mother asking her how grandy is fairing with life.

As usual my mother would always tell me that she is well coz she knew that if she tells me that my grandy's health was worsening it would affect me academically.

The dark day came when I received a call from one of my greatest friends saying sorry for me of what had happened. I was really confused coz I had not received any information from home that my grandmother has died. My friend just asked me if I have not recieved any information from home and when I answered him yes, he just hung up the phone.

This forced me to sms my mum to ask her what had happened at home.
Oh my God my grandmother passed away!

My grandmother died 2 weeks to my exams and this is why I have decided to write for you this mail to publish in your site so that readers can pray for me during this time of difficulty.

My message. Grandy, rest in peace,I loved you but God love you most. Wherever you have gone I consider it home. I'm just making my ways there. One day we will meet.
God bless you Grandy.
