Majority of the fishing boats in lake victoria are not owned by luos, they (luos) are the emplyees of boat owners whom some of them come from as far as beyond mt. kenya.

Money earned by workers in Luo Nyanza does not stay in Nyanza to develope Nyanza as majority of service providers in Luo nyanza come from outside luo nyanza, food that nyanza survive on come from neighbouring provinces and beyond, house rent are being paid property owners who live more than 300 km away from nyanza. It is pathetic.

We must begin to translate the theories into practical, ideas into action and it has to be sooner rather than later.

An idea: Fishermen through CDF to form Co-op so as to buy fishing boats, ref/vehicles to keep the catch fresh so that they can sell their catch to the consumer without there being any middleman to rip them off.

Consolidation of land so that loans or CDF be sourced for meaningful agriculture. As it is now there can not be anything meaningful be done on most of our land as most families have patches of land here and there. The late Jaramogi championed this (consolidation of land) but when he disagreed with the ruling elite during his short stint as chairman of the cotton lint board all was forgotten.

Luos are blesses with everthing Brain, Land, water you name God has given us the best. It is now time that we put our leaders and the learned to tusk.
