Re: President Luo Communities Everywhere: Following the campaign that Luocome started last year about empowering our people at the village level, and since picked up by several entreprising individuals, many Luos, especially those in Diaspora are willing and able to dabble into investments as a means to save their communities, and in the process make some money for themselves. That is great news. Unfortunately, not many people, our highly educated sons and daughters included, understand fully what investment entails. Majority of people know mostly about working for somebody, getting their check in exchange for their sweat, spending their earnings and possibly putting a little extra of their earnings in their savings account to earn them 2% or so interest. A few also know something about investing in their own homes. But investing as in owning a piece of a business is a new ball game to most. Issues like SEC, stocks or bonds, risks & gains, special / public / secondary offering, brokers, specialists, commission, buy/sell, lots, etc..etc are things that our enthused investors needs to be farmiliar with for their own protection and success. What Luocome is trying to spearhead here is an educational forum to make us be well informed investors. So we are looking for people in the investment field to educate those of us who are interested in investing. Initially this education takes the form of community service by the brokers, but it has good prospects for the educators to be our designated brokers as we move forward in knowledge. I hope this helps you, but you can continue to ask me anything that is not clear to you. God bless you.
