Miguna's seal of approval-When was Miguna detained? Manganga, As someone working to compile a list of Kenyan Heroes, I wonder why you would be concerned with Miguna Miguna's alleged detention without trial. Mr Nyaware never mentioned the word "Hero" neither did he allude to the fact that Miguna Miguna is a hero in anyway. Your project is about Kenyan 'Heroes' and not those detained without trial. Unless you want us to believe that all those detained without trial in post independent Kenya are all heroes. That brings us to an important questions here; what is your definition of a Kenyan Hero? And what is Detention Without Trial? This is what you say: "He was questioned and found to be of no threat to the state and released within a few days" 1.. Who questioned him? 2.. Where was he questioned from? 3.. Why was he being questioned? 4.. Was it from the comfort of his student halls, or a police station? 5.. What does the law say about producing suspects in court? 6.. How many days is "a few days"? WAS HE DETAINED WITHOUT TRIAL? A resounding YES if your research findings are correct. But I doubt if Miguna Miguna is interested in being included in your suspicious list of Kenyan Heroes that no one but you recognise. Finally you say "He was among 43 students who were expelled." My question to you is; from your detailed research findings, why was Miguna Miguna expelled from the univerity? Did he beat up a cook?? Steve Ochola Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
