Re: : We need to support Hon Raila--How about supporting the people of Kenya? Hi Ndugu Oketch, Don't hide behind me. I agree with Fiona. I too find your tone is a bit disturbing. I too "do not know what manner of authority you have to speak for Kenyans in Diaspora" I too believe strongly that you are "quite wrong on your presumptions."Similarly, I also hold fast to the view that Kenyans in Diaspora have their own views and even if some may correspond to yours, you're still not a spokesman." So as Fiona correcly suggests, "Speak for yourself and take a better tone and call it YOUR opinion." Yes. "This is not a forum for campaign." "Further, Your dislike for Kibaki and undying support for ODM is well documented and it would be appropriate if you would choose a different forum to discuss it further." (Ok Fiona is a little harsh on that last one. We will let you off with a warning this time) But on a more serious note, as she suggests forthrightly, "The daily mention of tribalism is in itself perpetrating tribalism in an unspoken subtle way that is not escaping everyone." In other words, Ndugu Oketch, your own tribalism has been noted by the more discerning among us, and you have been exposed." So, as Fiona suggests, "May we go back to discussing issues of development where everyones opinion is respected and we work towards developing and representing the youth.?" Further, and related to that, "Can we for a change get into productive discussions on initiatives affecting the youth and what we are doing in our respective fields and areas?" I agree 10000% that "We can not leave out what is happening politically as it affects us but the tone that issues are taking could easily breed contempt."
