The Demise of Ramogi Achieng' Oneko. Fellow Kenyans, I want to join you in mourning a HERO. If I was asked to define a hero, then I would advise that one studies the life of Ramogi Achieng' Oneko. To me and I believe most other Kenyans, you can never be a hero until you embrace a life such as that of Oneko's. May God be with his family at this hard time. Now, Kenyans, we have to change our perception of some leaders. It is a very sad moment for everyone that the Kapenguria six have all gone with tears still on their cheeks because many of those principles they suffered for are even more eroded in the Independent Kenya than it was in the Pre-independent Kenya. We have really embraced tribal, ethnic and racist politics; we have made Nepotism a norm. To honor our departed hroes, Let us for the first time focus on their initial agenda and improve our livelihood in this great Nation. A word of caution to our ODM leaders and their strong supporters; I have a strong belief that you carry the views and the intent of these great Kenyans who are now a past tense; we will never forgive you if ODM does not form the next Government and further deliver on the beatiful manifestos we have seen and heard. This simply calls for unity, Whether it's Raila or Mudavadi or even Kalonzo, our focus should now shift to teamwork and how to better Kenya, just as a token of appreciation to these fallen ones. May the Almighty God bless Kenya and it's people. Hillary Gai University of Eastern Africa, Baraton Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
