PERSONAL STATEMENT TO CLARIFY AND SET RECORDS STRAIGHT ON MY ALLEGED APPOINTMENT TO THE KENYA PIPELINE CORPORATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Following the media report of my alleged appointment to the Board of Directors of the Kenya Pipeline Corporation (KPC) Ltd and the many inquiries and messages of congratulation I continue to receive, it has become necessary for me to respond publicly and set the records straight on this matter.

I would like friends, well-wishers and the general public to be informed as follows;

1. THAT I am unawares of such an appointment. No appointment has been offered nor accepted by me from government.

2. THAT while I look forward, and indeed expect, to serve my country in appropriate capacities in the future, I am neither desirous nor interested in serving in any opportunistic appointment. Least of all in a government that is impervious to change and reluctant to implement the agenda for good governance.

3. THAT consequent to the above, while I appreciate all those who wish me well, I kindly request that all friends and well wishers do stop sending me messages of congratulation and/or directing advice either way to me with respect to the alleged appointment.
