sent by Edward Omolo ... learnt well from the money masters... Okuyu! If you ever thought only okuyu (Kikuyus) were the smartest when it comes to cash, Sample this....... A Luo (Kenyan) walks into a bank in Manhattan business district, New York City and asks for a loan officer. He says he's going to Brussels on a business trip (diamonds and other precious stones za Biashara, what else do you expect?) for two weeks and needs to borrow $5,000. The bank officer says the bank will need some kind of security for the loan, so the Luo (Jang'o) hands over the keys to a 2007 Rolls Royce. The car is parked on the street in front of the bank, they have the title and everything checked out. The bank agrees to accept the car as collateral for the loan. The bank's President and officers all enjoyed a good laugh at the Kenyan for using a $250,000 Rolls Royce as collateral against a $5,000 loan. An employee of the bank then proceeds to drive the Rolls Royce into the bank's underground garage and parks it there. Two weeks later, the Man who hails from Nyahera village returns, repays the $5,000 and the interest, which comes to $15.41. The loan officer said, "Sir, we are very happy to!!! Have had your business, and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled??. While you were away, we checked you out and found that you are a multimillionaire. What puzzles us is, why would you bother to borrow $5,000?" The Jang'o (Jaluo) replied: "Where else in Manhattan, Business district can I park my car for two weeks for only $15.41 and expect it to be safely there when I return? Have a mathematical day!!!!!!!!!! Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
