re: Mkida - Mr.Makora/Mr.Gekara: thank you./ Nd. From: Geoffrey Osiemo Thank you both of you. It indeed shows that we have people with enough knowledge of what the problem is.However, what is lacking is the catalyst to appoint proper qualified people to the right positions to work for common good.Mr.Makora you have rightly given a good example on how President Kennedy challenged and rallied the American people to put somebody on the moon within ten years and it happened.Hii ikua mdomo tupu. He had to provide Federal Funds for research. I wish to reiterate that what Kenya needs is a Kennedy in State House.A leader who could come up with a marshal plan to overhaul the education system and many other areas of endeavour which have stagnated in the country. That is why in my earlier posting i mentioned that we must look at the big picture. To really make an impact of change the local leaders-MPs, Counselors, Chiefs etc must be involved, if not State House. But then we have to reckon with funding. This is a tall order but i pray that we will rise up to the challenges. Just a thought. As the MPs might not be amused to find the compatriots from the diaspora coming up with projects to help the people, we should plan, carefully, come the year 2012 or 2017 we sponsor formidable people of integrity from the diaspora to challenge them in all the Gusii constituencies. Our people will be mandated to campaign together, going round all the Gusii constituencies, explaining the people the values we stand for. That way, even if we are not elected to parliament, we would have made an impact that we mean business. This is a good topic. Let us carry on the discussion. Thanks. GOO. Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
