VICTIMS PETITION POLICE AND MP OVER TORTURE CLAIMS

Temperamental Gem Legislature Jakoyo Midiwo has been petitioned by A Kisumu based lawyer Richard Onsongo to come clean on allegations that he has a hand in the maiming and threatening 9 Constituents who are allied to his political rivals.

Speaking after a massive well organized street demonstration in Akala Market and to the Local Police Station thereafter, the advocate challenged the Police to come out openly and explain why they have not taken action against the MP despite the victims recording statements with them.

According to some of the torture victims, the MPs schemes started on 8th July at Osawo CCA Church South West Wagai in Gem Constituency when he told a congregation that some of his opponents who are not loyal to the party (ODM) but are interested in wrestling the seat from him must be weeded out before the forth coming General Elections.

True to his words, a Cream pick up KWM 400 full of hired goons has been seen in wee hours trailing the MPs opponents and their supporters yet the Police appears to be part of the conduit, courtesy of their complacency.

A proprietor of a Bar in Akala, who spoke on condition of anonymity to the press narrated how the goons pounced on him and left him for dead just because of political differences with the MP recently.

Akala traders Association vice chairman a Mr. Paul was equally butted recently by the MP together with his new found goons on same reasons.

Political pundits are now questioning the kind of powers and approach the MP is exhibiting to retain the seat.

So far Nairobi based wealthy advocate Ambrose Rachier and his Kisumu Town Youthful resilient countpart Stephen Aluoch Kopot have shown interest to contest the seat.

It will require a very shrewd and sustained political tact for besieged Midiwo to avert the scenario which has currently narrowed to a two horse race courtesy of his trade mark combat when approaching issues.

In a separate telephone interview to the press, the duo vowed to ensure that the latest brand of barbaric thuggery and threats towards Gem Constituents is a foregone conclusion despite Police reluctance to take action against the legislature who seems to have gone berserk.
