Re: Kenya Crisis Federal Convention Conference Dear Ndebele Okoth aka Rev Okoth Otura. The call for Majimbo is not originally yours but a call for many progressives. You indeed prejudice the minds of Kenyans when you infuse religion into this call. You of course have a right to voice your opinion just like many others, what with the success of the struggle of Kenya's second liberators. I am a Luo and know many, but will not pretend that I have authority to speak for them. Authority to speak for the Luos comes from the electorate. My unsolicited advice to you is to register your movement in Kenya, and then decide whether it is political or religious. If it is political, please feild your candidates or candidature. It is very important to separate religion from politics. I know Raila, but do not speak for him. Raila is greatly inspired by former South Africa's president Nelson Mandela. Mandela was determined to see the end of apartheid, which he did. It was a determination he was prepared to die for. Raila is determined to see the end of tribalism in Kenya, which if need be, he has informed us he is prepared to die for. Raila is the leader of the Luo people of Kenya, and currently is running for president. As president, ending tribalism will be easier. Nyerere could not have done it without being TZ president Raila has a great chance of being the 4th president of Kenya. Many Kenyans, including this writer and my Kalenjin wife believe that a Luo can be president. Talk of secession by you or any Luo at this time is a sign of surrendar in my opinion. It does not help in the work that must to be done to change the minds of the remaining few regarding the evils of tribalism. Meshack Owino, Joseph Okumu and others have been giving us good arguments for secession. They do not however give Raila ultimatums and do not tie their arguments towards current poilitics of the day. Please talk to your advisers. Like Pastor Birai and others, there are a lot of good advice you can give. After all, you too were ordained a priest!. Please stop tribalism. Leave politics to politicians and stop shaming Luo communities everywhere.
