re: Email from Gordon Teti via UB Law School Webpage Mr. Teti: Thanks for your comments. The democratic process requires respect for the rights to free speech. It is those rights that allow citizens to have probing debates on the choices of a society, including those who seek its leadership. Disagreements, as long as they remain civil, are the core of an open society. It is in my view very healthy that we can debate the merits or otherwise of any policy or candidate. Finally, I would not rely on Dr. Sally Kosgey as an authority for what Kenya needs -- she was after all Mr. Moi's right hand woman when he ran the country down the drain. Asante.
