ODM-K Komarock Women League Yesterday, July 21st, ODM-K women members in Komarock hosted the entire leadership of ODM-K in Embakasi, at Komarock Primary School. In attendance were 42 civic aspirants from the whole of Embakasi, and four parliamentary aspirants on ODM-K ticket. We had Irshad Sumra, Fred Oduke, Kajairo and Daniel Muthama. Lameck Siage and Jack Onong'no, though I talked to them personally and invited them, did not show up. Our guest of honour, Her Worship Mumbi Ngaru also did not come over. But our function went on smoothly and we drummed up support for ODM-K very well. We came up with one resolution; we need the leaders of Embakasi to unite and deliver the seat in the forthcoming General Elections. We can only attain such unity by organizing more of such rallies, and engaging our supporters. We cannot achieve anything for our presidential candidates by following them up everywhere while Mwenje and Waititu of Narc-K are having a field day in Embakasi. We will hence be holding more of such rallies, and all ODM-K leaders will always be invited. At Komarock, we had three surprise guests; Sam Shem, the Chairman of Students Front for Democratic Change, Stella Muriithi and Mary Goretti, the two founder members of Wera Kenya. Sam appealed to the youth of this country to take charge of their destiny and help elect a change agent, someone who knows what we all need, and can fix it. He appealed to the young generation to come out openly and associate with the change that we need. Stella and MG called on the women of Kenya to come out strongly in support of Hon Raila Odinga. They said that as young women of Kenya, they are proud to be associated with Raila Odinga because he believes in one Kenya devoid of tribalism, corruption and a country with equal access to all opportunities. In all, we had a strong rally and once more, we proved to the world that Komarock is an ODM-K zone. Our parting shot was that we must have the job done by 11am on that material day, so that we can give Kibaki enough time to pack up and catch bus No. 40 to Othaya on time when there is still enough light. In conclusion, I must thank the thousands of Komarock residents who have come out to be change agents in Kenya. Your vote for me at the civic level, for anyone who will convince you that he deserves to be your MP, and for Raila Odinga at the presidential level, will be a vote well cast. Odhiambo T Oketch Secretary; ODM-K Embakasi Constituency. Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
