An Evening with Miguna Miguna From: Joab O. NYANDO PEOPLE IN THE DIASPORA TOGETHER WITH FRIENDS OF MIGUNA MIGUNA, CORDIALLY INVITES YOU TO AN EVENING WITH MIGUNA MIGUNA IN MONROE, NEW YORK ON SATURDAY AUGUST 4, 2007 AT 6.00PM. Miguna Miguna is a Barrister & Solicitor; Mediator & ADR Consultant; political analyst; prolific commentator on social, cultural and political issues; and a published author. MIGUNA IS CURRENTLY A CANDIDATE FOR THE NYANDO PARLIAMENTARY SEAT AND AN IMPORTANT PLAYER IN THE ODM-K CAMPAIGN TO UNSEAT KIBAKI. MIGUNA CAME TO THE NATIONAL LIME LIGHT DURING THE LONG STRUGGLE FOR KENYA’S 2ND LIBERATION WHEN HE WAS ABDUCTED AND DETAINED INCOMMUNICADO WITHOUT TRIAL BY THE MOI/KANU REGIME. HE WAS THEN A STUDENT LEADER AT THE NAIROBI UNIVERSITY. MIGUNA CHAIRED THE COMMITTEE FOR DEMOCRACY IN KENYA (CDK) - AN INTERNATIONAL DEMOCRACY GROUP - AT THE HEIGHT OF THE MOI/KANU DICTATORSHIP. HE WAS PART AND PARCEL OF THE STRUGGLES THAT CULMINATED IN THE REPEAL OF SECTION 2A OF THE CONSTITUTION AND THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE "SECOND LIBERATION." TODAY, MIGUNA IS STILL A LEADER, A STRONG VOICE FOR CHANGE AND AN ACTIVIST IN THE MOVEMENT FOR THE 3RD LIBERATION OF KENYA.
