ODMK NOMINATIONS IS THE REAL ISSUE DELEGATE OR CONSENSUS? ochieng' Daktari na wana-ODM-K: 1. ODM has never been a democratic party with structure for running its affairs, why are you surprised it can not function democratically? 2. ODM leaders have no individual or collective democratic credentials - these are ethnic leaders, who are not for national but ethnic leadership like Kibaki's. 3. Where are their development records even at the constituency level? They have nothing to show to Kenyans. 4. ODM most important legacy would have been to continue to pressure the government for a new constitution that devolves the current system and cuts back presidential powers. With such a system then it does not matter who is president. Anyone who inherits the current system will not want his powers cut. My prediction: Kibaki for another 5 yrs. since his competition is not ODM but the Moi regime which set the bar below zero, and against which he is compared. ochieng' k'olewe Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
