Re:Going home When we first came to this country,we came with the intention either to settle, or to return home some day, at the completion of that which brought us here. But as we have all come to find out, having been used to this system, challenging as it might be, there will never be enough preparation. Every time you think that you are getting closer to being ready, something else pops up. It really takes courage and a leap of faith, to finally call it a quit. That said, there is a very big difference between deciding to return and being forced to return. Granted, there are different ways of looking at this issue. Allow me to express mine. Firstly, I see it as a challenge for the following reasons: 1.Returning without enough funds and other necessities of life. 2.Returning to a place were the expectations are very high. 3.Unable to meet the needs of your immediate family and the community at large. 4.Unable to own and/or maintain a car. On the other hand, this whole thing might turn out to be a blessing in disguise. What do I mean? 1.Who knows! Our continued being here might have turned out to be a tragedy. 2.It's possible that we would have been lost for ever. 3.It's possible that we would have lost those who at one time meant a lot to us. 4.May be that is the way God answered the prayers of those we left behind. Be it as it may be,I want us all to remember the following: 1.Jeremiah 29:11 God has got good plans for each and every one of his children. 2.Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God.." 3.Even when all we happen to see right now is nothing but complete darkness, let us remember that Our God indeed works in mysterious ways and that He has 1001 ways of providing for the needs of His children, of which we know none. And finally my dear brothers and sisters ,let us take heart knowing that He who is on our side is greater than the accuser of God's children. Further, we want you to know that while we might not do much to change anything,at least you can count on our prayers. Let us therefore continue to support and pray for one another. Shall we? Just a thought. Pr Absalom Birai 612-386-4608 Maranatha SDA church, Hopkins, Minnesota. Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
