Re: Pledges & writing bad checks From time to time,an institution or individual find it necessary to call for a fund raiser. During such occasions, one gives as he is moved by either cash, check or a pledge. At the end, the money raised is declared and hence a vote of thanks. But there have been cases where some checks are returned for in sufficient funds or pledges are not honored. And so here is my question, concern and contribution. 1. Since writing a bad check is a criminal offense, what should one do with such bad checks? 2.Seeing that contributions are not a must, why should one write a check or give a pledge when she/he know that there are no sufficient funds? Does the community or individuals appreciate any contribution? Absolutely; but then it becomes a problem when some checks are returned. Any suggestions? Just a thought.
