Re:Learn to wait upon the Lord. Although Abraham, the father of faith, and a friend of God, believed God by leaving his home for a promised land, he failed terribly by trying to help God. At the very on set, Abraham questioned how God's promises towards him were going to be fulfilled seeing that he did not have a son. God promised to bless them with a baby son at the appointed time. After many years of waiting, Abraham made an attempt to help God by marrying another wife, but not without serious consequences. God indeed fulfilled his promise towards Abraham by blessing them with Isaac, twenty five years later. To reinstate Abraham's faith/trust, God tested him severly by asking him to give his loving son, Isaac as a sacrifice. Abraham obeyed God and as he was about to offer his son, God intervened by providing a lamb for a burnt offerings. As the saying goes "hurry, hurry has no blessings." Furthermore "good things take time." But like Abraham, many of us want either to go ahead of God, or always try to "help Him." And because of this, many things always do go wrong. There are certain things in life that must take their time such as unborn children. Equally true, are the promises of God. All one has to do, is to wait for their fulfilment. Are you willing to wait? Just a thought. Pr Birai-612-386-4608 www.ThemaranathaSDAchurch.org Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
