Re: The prayer of a pastor's wife. I once read a story; a story of a very powerful and influential pastor, who was truly loved by his parishioners. Every time he stood up to preach, he turned the church into fire by applying his art of preaching and sense of humor."Amen, praise the Lord, Tell them, Preach it, hallelujah", is all you would hear from every corner of the church. But sitted at the back of the church, was a lady with a different kind of message."Lord, please keep him at the pulpit", cried the pastor's wife. She did this for several weeks. Those who heard her every week wondered what was happening."When my husband is preaching, he is a saint, but when he's at home, he's so mean to the children and me", was her response."And so I keep on pleading with God to keep him at the pulpit for who knows one day he might find Jesus", added the pastor's wife. When I read this story, it spoke to me loud and clear and therefore decided to share it with my wife. Since then, I have heard it several times a day. But thank God for it has become a constant reminder to examine myself daily. And so my appeal to all of us preachers is to pray unto God to help us live the message we preach. Furthermore, let the Christ we preach out there be seen by our family spouses and children. Can we? Just a thought.
