This does not make sense. I doubt KBK is interested in having Kalonzo run except under his wing or as a spoiler. So if they plan to "use" Steadman, it would be to propel Raila to the top because they think it is easier to beat Raila than it is to beat Kalonzo. Why Raila? Because it will be easier to gang others against Raila. For example, Moi will use the last cent to make sure that Raila does not win the elections.

There are too many people scared of Raila's presidency and they include akina Moi, KBK, Saitoti and everybody else scared of the unearthing those skeletons. They would be comfortable with anybody else but Raila. Moi for example would support a Kalonzo or Mudavadi presidency because the knows that his wealth would be safe. Because he knows that Raila is likely to win the primaries, he is therefore banking his hope on Kibaki re-election.

We also need to remember that it is only Raila capable of delivering his supporters to others. Kalonzo or Mudavadi or Ruto may just be payukering and may fail to deliver much to Raila.

One thing which is very clear is that KBK and his team would love to see all (Raila and Kalonzo...and others) run. That way, Kibaki will be walking comfortably back to State House.

KBK's dream would be one where Kamba, Luyia, Kalenjin and Luyia votes dont go in the same basket. If that was to happen, KBK would as well start preparing for retirement. Unfortunately that wont happen. Three or more candidates will split votes and that will make KBK smile.

As things now stand, ODM-K is going the FORD of 92 way. Kalonzo is going to make a flight with ODM-K using Manzo while Raila is going to look for alternative party. ODM-K will be split or be left with either Wajaluo or Wakamba...Kama Ford-P, FORD-K or DP. If that does not happen, he (Kalonzo) will run for the presidency but wont go far. Fortunately for Kamba MPs, they will win on Kalonzo's ticket and then negotiate with KBK or whoever will win the presidency next year. Most of those candidates, even those who surrounded Raila today will not support him. They will be running for the presidency, just to go the Nyachae way and then use their strength to negotiate for posts in Govt and cabinet posts. The move will be to go Nyachae-Kombo route. Get MPs and then demand for seats. Mark this last paragraph for future reference. Kalonzo is also likely to join KBK's team or join hands with Uhuru and get directions from Moi
