RE: Poll Question: Who Will Be The Next President of Kenya? From: "Obongo, Elisha"
Political Re-alignments and Schemes Guys watch out for Moi’s politics – if you read and understand Kenyan politics, everybody will agree with me that tribe plays a major role in political re-alignments in our country. Voters voting for aspirants just because they are coming from the backyard, yes – basically as an MP you need to vote your own MP but for Presidency - No. With Kalonzo having been bought out by the Government or government sympathizers or by his own selfish ambitions, and with Raila aligning himself with Ruto, Mudavadi, Nyaga and Balala - Moi can not sleep – remember he stated couple of months ago that he supports Kibaki’s bid for another term because Kibaki was on his side for all those decades he was in power! Do not be misled that Kibaki was against Moi and that is why he came up with DP in 1992! That was a clear plot by Moi and infact moi advised Kibaki to form DP to spoil for Jaramogi after multipartism was introduced and the emergence of Matiba that split FORD to multiple fords. Moi knew pretty much that if you split a multi-tribal outfit/force or movement, you can easily win the elections.
This is the same thing happening now, did you read about Jirongo having
a meeting with Moi at his Remember we are going to the elections with the old constitution of 25% votes from 5 provinces to win the presidency, Calculations are that If Mudavadi – Western, Ruto – Rift Valley, ODM will have an upper hand given that Nairobi, Nyanza, Western, R.Valley and Coast will be an easy ride for ODM to get the mandated 5 provinces leaving swing provinces like NEP and Eastern up for grab. Nobody of all the aspirants apart from KBK will get even 10% from central anyway! Moi would rather support Kibaki than somebody like Raila or Koigi since those are the kind of people who suffered during his tenancy at state house all those decades and he is afraid they might revenge. Who else is currently gunning for presidency who did not work for Moi? Or whom was not his political making! Remember too that the top issues affecting our country that needs to be addressed includes corruption and tribalism that President Kibaki has failed to address and these directly will affect the professor of politics if we get somebody in that state owned house who can effectively address those issues and that is why he will never sleep until KBK makes it back for a second term. Back to KM, do you remember the circumstances that occurred during the registration of ODM-K? Ms. Janet Ongera who was charged with registration of ODM-K casually invited Maanzo to be the chairman of ODM-K since the government would have not have allowed big names to appear on any registration document and get registered, hence Ongera while convincing her driver and her secretary to be the Secretary and Treasurer respectively, Maanzo walked in her office she asked Mr. Maanzo a lawyer by profession to be the chairman and Maanzo agreed with a condition of not using his Last name. That was the biggest coincidence that ever happened and KM took advantage of it immediately he realized that Raila would not support anybody for ODM-K candidacy unless an election was held and a winner was chosen, this hurt KM because opinion polls had suggested that he was the best hence Raila would endorse him for a free ride to state house, that was when KM started courting with Maanzo running upto late last year towards the by election for Margarini constituency when registered members of ODM-K were needed to sign nomination papers. KM political re-alignment was long overdue and infact remember also that the Official opposition party have hinted that they will not field a presidential candidate! Watch out for another re-alignment between KM, Uhuru, Nyachae and Kombo to KBK’s side. Mama Ngilu is stuck in between, if KM insist for the big seat, she would be better supporting him to make it back to Parliament because Kambas will vote for KM remember what the professor almost did to her in 1997? KBK might try to court KM for VP in his next term promising power take over come 2012, but that would be a bad idea for him because he might be the VP for a short time only to be dropped for another Central province figure in readiness for 2012, Sai pesa (Saitoti) is gearing up for 2012, Uhuru the same Ruto, Kirwa and even Tuju are gearing up, but should he join KBK and they loose to anybody in ODM, then he might have along way to make a come back. So Brothers and Sisters let’s fight these political re-alignments just to block so and so from getting to power or so that I can make it back to parliament as an MP, or because an aspirant is coming from my tribe whether they are a 100% sure they will not make it to the presidency, which part of our brain would have convinced us that Nyachae would have made it to the top seat in 2002, what about Kombo or Jirongo in 2007, why do we vote irresponsibly like we have done in the past! Just because an aspirant is coming from your province does not mean that voting for him will propel him to state house without other votes from other provinces! Remember that 25% votes from 5 different provinces and Vote for somebody with an outfit that represents at least 4 provinces. These people vying for presidency from these briefcase parties knows well that they can not make it to the top seat and are either doing it 1)to make it back to parliament as an MP, 2) Bought by the current gorvenments or government sympathisers and political schemers 3)Just want to split the voting blocks to block so and so from getting votes from their backyards.
As all of us realised when history was made in 2005 when the Government sponsored draft was voted down by over a Million votes, this was because there was no way and reason of how the government would have divided the voting blocks because it was a YES/NO situation and people voted on issues that was being addressed in the constitution. This is what i urge you voters that we need to vote on issues rather than personalities from the Local levels up the the top seat of presidency and let us go out there and vote who represents accross section of Kenyans from all tribes and provinces and untill now i believe he is Hon. Eng. Raila Amolo Odinga . Let us pray not to witness again whatever first Lady did to the nation reporter - charges were dropped, or whatever Mother in law to the first Family Ms. Weru did to Customers who just happen to have gone for lunch only to be thrown away because they oppose the president.
