Pledges and bad checks. This is a very good question by Pastor Birai. It is a very touchy issue because there are well known individuals who are notorious for this kind of nasty act and behaviour. I wrote about it sometimes last year. It is common in Central New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and other places even in Kenya. Lots of Fundraisings in America do happen almost every week ends. Mostly, those who are fond of this habit are conmen who attend these gatherings just to go looking for women, some free drinks and food. They write bad checks intentionally, with good amount of money ranging from $150.00 to approximately $500.00. In all they pretend to show lots of concern. It is a shame to add insult or hurt somebody more after a loss of a family member, friend, or relative to write a bad check to the berieved, only to go to the Bank and find out that the check has bounced because of insufficient fund. Tha Bank will go ahead and charge the berieved for presenting a bad check. Where is the moral here fellow Kenyans? Let us act mature with civility and respect amongst us. Nobody forces anyone to attend these gatherings but we do attend them to give support both moraly and if possible financially. Shame on those who don't want act civilized. We are in a modern world, we need each other on just a positive note. Stop these nasty behaviours. In all,DONT WRITE BAD CHECKS TO PEOPLE AND RESPECT YOUR PLEDGES.
