The last bend We are now negotiating the last bend, and all agents of change have made up their minds. Time has come when like all other communities, we must all stand solidly behind our man. You have heard others say that it is either their man, and if not, they vote Kibaki back. We must not fall into the same band wagon. We must continue presenting the agenda for change, where we will create a new Kenya for all Kenyans. Tomorrow, we will be at Nyayo Stadium for the Wera Kenya vs Raila Team football bonanza. On Sunday, we are at Tononoka grounds in Mombasa, on Wednesday, we will be at Panari Hotel along Mombasa Road for dinner in support of Hon Raila. Then we will crown it by trooping into Moi International Stadium, to nominate our ODM Presidential torch bearer. These are hence hard times, and people who can buckle under pressure are already feeling the heat. We must all resist these tribal tendencies that associate power with one of our own. Time has come, and we have come along way, when Kenyans must stand up to be counted. If you want a Kenya where impunity reigns supreme, then vote for Kibaki. If you want a Kenya where corruption will remain rampant and become a way of life, then vote Kibaki. If you want to see tribalism like you have never seen before, vote for Kibaki. Do not be confused by his election war chest. Kenyns have out grown those antics. We saw it before Kibaki, and we saw it with Kibaki at the Referandum, when state resources were exclussively used to campaign for the discredited Wako draft, but we still won. Eat that money, but vote for change. Odhiambo T Oketch Komarock Nairobi Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
