Kenya high commission of shame From: Omondi Michael Sir, Ask any Kenya student in India his or her major woes are and his reply would be Kenya hicom. The Kenya high commission is so insensitive to the problems Kenyan students are facing. Take for example the case of the Kenyan student who had an accident and passed away on 12th august 2007 in the city of Chennai. Of all the things we expected of our respected foreign affairs arm of the Kenyan government to do was to delay sending clearance papers so the body of our beloved colleague could be released by the authorities here in Chennai India. The body lay in the dilapidated mortuary for 2 weeks incurring unnecessary expenses to the family. The immigration attaché at the high commission (Eunice Lamba Chacha) was arrogant, insensitive to the case on the ground and refused to sign the "No objection letter " citing the day was a "FRIDAY" and she could not spoil weekend mood .We pleaded with her on humanitarian grounds but to no avail. Is this the Kenyan foreign policy?? Hope not . We demand an official inquiry. Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
