RAILA MAKA ODINGA -ODM is MARWA From: nyanja Agwambo wuod nya Alego igala gala Raila maka Odinga igala gala. As I always say, from the first day I started supporting Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga he has always have a way out of every political roadblock placed on his path by those opposed to him. I rememebr how empty I felt after Moi insisted on Uhuru just months after having us believe that he brought Raila into Kanu to support Raila for presidency. Rainbow and finally Narc was born within months and Moi was history. Today he pulled one that many did not expect. This is also why I always tell Raila supporters, let Raila handle the politics while we remain support battalion.

BREAKING NEWS-----------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
By Standard Team
The ODM-Kenya faction allied to Langata MP Mr Raila Odinga has taken over
the ownership of the original Orange
Democratic
Movement. "I have handed over the party unconditionally to the true owners.
The future of
Kenya
is Orange," Manyara said.
The new twist now means that Mwingi North MP Kalonzo Musyoka has been left with ODM-Kenya, which is chaired by his close ally, lawyer Daniel Maanzo. Raila praised Manyara for the gesture saying: "There are very few occasions when I’m overwhelmed and this is one of the days".
The acquisition of the original ODM follows a battle for control
of ODM-Kenya, pitting Kalonzo
against Raila.
Maanzo has moved to court to block a bid led by Tinderet MP, Mr Henry
Kosgey, to take over the leadership of the party.
Kalonzo and Ojiambo skipped NEC meeting
An ODM-Kenya National Executive Council (NEC) meeting is currently underway
at Orange House to deliberate on the latest development. Meanwhile, Kalonzo and Dr Julia Ojiambo skipped the NEC meeting. The two leaders also announced separate campaign rallies set for next week. And in an indication that the feuding factions were far from reconciliation, Kalonzo also announced that his team was eagerly waiting for “those strange pronouncements from that illegal NEC” before it makes its own decision.
The leaders also came up with another raft of demands, among them the
making public of the findings of the party’s council of elders on identification
and ranking of presidential aspirants.
Demand for proportionate sharing formula They insisted that ODM Kenya was a coalition, and demanded a proportionate sharing formula of 30:30:30 between Liberal Democratic Party , Kanu and Labour Party of Kenya (LPK), while the remaining 10 would be set aside for other interested groups.
Addressing the press at
“We could not attend the NEC whose agenda was suspicious. It would also
legitimise a flawed process of nominating the party’s presidential flag
bearer. It would mean that I would be attending a pre-arranged process to
lose honourably,” Kalonzo said.
Members unhappy with NEC
They include Kanu chairman Mr Uhuru Kenyatta, Mutula Kilonzo, Joseph Nkaissery, Justin Muturi, Marsden Madoka, Gideon Ndambuki, David Musila and Lucas Maitha. Others were Mrs Nyiva Mwendwa, Linah Kilimo, Dr Abdul Ibrahim Ali, Taib Ali Taib, Badi Ali, S K Waruingi, Geoffrey Gachagua, Sophia Abdi, Peter Kubebea and Ronald Shako. Kalonzo claimed the members could not attend the NEC because it was planned from a presidential aspirant’s campaign headquarters.
The Standard
has since learnt that the NEC was organised after a private meeting at
the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation offices.
