Re: MPS SHOULD EARN TEN TIMES THE SALARY OF THE LOWEST EARNING CIVIL SERVANT From: Zee Ajode Mr Odhiambo, I am Glad to have known you in this forum, and for the energy that you exibit in every topic on the forum. You have shown a great deal of maturity and thought on every subject, but am very sory you missed out on this one. You as well as I know, spik and span, that power corupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely... That is the essence of the war, not the money. Salary to the MPs, Taxable salary, is the question. For all I know, paying 26% of your hard earned money to tax, plus the VAT, and other taxes to support the large stomach of a person who earns 15 - 20 times the yearly income of his poorest electorate is not freedom to me. Freedom is being able to be presented with an opportunity to pull yourself up. To be able to balance you income with your expense. That is freedom. Kenya does not earn that much. For hevens sake, we have a debt of 1.1 trillion Shillings, where is the money to wash our throats with? How can we irresponsibly spend on non entities while we can re invest to grow out of debt, Don't you think it is time kenya started giving AID to other countries? Is it not time to claim our position in the African power grid? May be you should realized that the focus of political strife has never been the things that individuals lust for in, but three basic rights; Food, shelter, and peace... Think again!
