TALKING TO KALONZO IS A WASTE OF TIME MPs allied to Mr Raila Odinga and Mr Kalonzo Musyoka were yesterday mounting pressure on the rival ODM camps to reunite. My question is unite for what? And since when did ODMK break? As far as I am concerned there was no breakage. Kalonzo after having been paid opted to take the party at ransom because his stooge Maanzo had the paperwork. If you would like to call anything Guerilla tactics then there it was. Unfortunately Kalonzo and co failed to read beyond their nose. Their hope of crippling Raila was short lived. His calculation was full of malice and was hatched by the devil in hell. However, the angels were on Agwambo's corner. Success was achieved in the name ODM. The only solution here is not unity. Kalonzo group simply need to return the certificates to bonafide ODMK officials. The issue is not the breakage, the issue is the certificate. How do you discuss unity before you discuss the certificate? As long as the certificate is kept by the government on behalf of Kalonzo, there is no need for this talk. Further, if unity occurs, what will be the name of the party, ODMODMK or what? Who will be the officials? Will it be a coalition or individual membership? Who will be the presidential candidate and who will Kalonzo replace as the running mate of Raila? Will Raila or Kalonzo ever trust each other again? This scenarios are complicated and I wonder why ODM wants to go back into this complicated union. ODM has very little time left. Leave the Kalonzo issue alone. Campaign to beat Kibaki. Kalonzo has beaten himself already. Once you chase the devil away, it is important you keep him outside or under your feet. However, if you invite him inside he will design better plans to derail you and will be accompanied by more of his kind. At least that is the way I view this reunion plan. Kalonzo chose to separate himself on his own. He knows how he left. He should know how to come back. Why are these meetings necessary. The meetings are giving Kalonzo a mileage. The ODM group is actually making Kalonzo name show up in the headlines. By fronting this meetings, ODM secretariat are suggesting to the people that Kalonzo is so important to an extent that they cannot do without him. This I believe is a miscalculation because Kalonzo has no clout in the absence of Ruto or Mudavadi by his side. It is also worrying when ODM start these communications with Kalonzo because it gives an impression that even Mudavadi and Ruto are sympathizing with Kalonzo and are about to join him. If this is the case then Kenya opposition politics is in trouble and is over. But if this is not so then I would say exactly what Okech Kendo said, Kalonzo days are numbered. Leave him with the few kamba MPS he owns and lets see where he ends up. Give him a total black out and if he is coming back, let him come on his knees. However, if these negotiations continue, Kalonzo big head syndrome will never die. He will still come back and this time he will device a mechanism to completely destroy ODM. My brief analogy is that Kalonzo is is already spilt milk. You cannot recollect it and put it back into the cup. And if you do this, then the rest of the milk will be so riddled with dirt. No one will buy it and no one will be able to drink it. DR. BARACK ABONYO Joluo.com Akelo nyar Kager, jaluo@jaluo.com |
