RE: PRESS REALEASE SANITATION LAUNCH

From: pohonde

Kuom, Mr. Obat Masira,

Erokamano kuom miyowa privilege to critique your play attached below. Ikelo weche mamit, mag lit, mago mor, mag riwruok kendo mag puonj gi dongruok. Please bear with me gi osiepna mawang'iyo godo play ni because un kaka designers you know best what you want to communicate so our suggestions should be treated with contempt as they might be out of the mark.

The play looks comprehensive and determined to communicate a massage. However, it doesn't come out clearly as to what exactly does the playist want to convey and which audiences they are targeting. The theme is wonderful though. it is also fantastic that the story has been built on the known.

As said earlier, we are not sure of the intended outcome, and we suggest that the play be tilted to target overall behaviour change towards unsafe faecal disposal and explicitly use examples of the known which can happen if faeces are everywhere (cholera, Typhoid etc). The story should clearly identify and highlight most critical risky practices to be targeted, i.e, defecating in the bush because the latrines have collapsed or dirty for use. These, then should form the main theme surrounding latrines construction.

The audiences in the play are mixed and each has a role to play for sanitation to improve. So the play should capture these so that they can see the taxonomy - parents build the latrines, work on water sources, children use the latrines appropriately, cleans them, they wash their hands after latrine use and teachers and children monitors the latrines status and maintenance. The ideas is to ensure that the play portrays all inclusive participation / partnership. Some play scenes should indicate who can motivate the adoption of safe behaviours -role of parents, teachers, children themselves, administration etc and also what might prevent behaviour change.

In summary, the play should include, among other things:

Clarity of key messages to be conveyed to the audience.
Most important risky practices to target and give examples, e.g., cholera, accidents etc ( but diarrheal diseases is most appropriate).
Who are the audiences for the key massages being conveyed by the play.
Portray who can most effectively motivate change of these risky practices.
What may prevent the change of targeted behaviours.
How effectiveness of the changed behaviours will be monitored.
Otherwise keep the very good work, you know I support tich te ma itimo kendo mapod imedo time ne ogandawa, joka nyarnam. Ageni ni ibiro kawo matin mawandiko kak lay people mondo omed jiwo tugo. Kendo imiya duoko kaka budho gi tugo odhi.
