Re: What can a church in diaspora do? Contrally to what many of us think and/or know,a church is a very powerful institution which,if properly organized, and managed, can accomplish a great deal, not only to it's parishioners, but also the community and those scattered throughout the world. Here're some examples: 1.The first and foremost need for the church,is to help us connect with our heavenly Father in whom our lives depend. 2.If the members gave generously towards church budget, the church can assist the needy and provide some financial assistance towards her students. 3.If the church had enough members and gave faithfully,we can use the talents of those who have spent many years training as pastors but now can be found @ Fedexkinkos, Menards, Kohls, Fatories, Security Farms and Nursing Homes. 4.If a church has a vision and good administrators,it can open and operate a day care and an academy. The school will no doubt,be a big help to it's parishioners and the community. Furthermore, it will provide employment to our many fine teachers whose talent of teaching is being wasted. Help will also be needed in other areas which will go a long way helping our people. How about secretaries,school/church drivers &..... 5.We can help contribute towards the building of churches back home. 6.We can assist those who usually win a GC but are unable to pay. Friends, all it takes is for us to come together and work as a team. Let us view the success of our brothers/sisters as our own. This is why I will keep on pleading to all to assist the church in diaspora. Do you see my point? Just a thought.
